Athena is not an “editing” service. All of our workshops and critique services are designed to coach and mentor writers to help them toward their goal of becoming a published novelist. If you’re looking for someone to rewrite your work–look elsewhere. If you want to become a better writer and need help taking your writing and your story to the next level, you’ve come to the right place!

Book in a Week Therapy Sessions

Critiques by Athena

What You Can Expect

We provide a big picture analysis of your story based on our 10-Point Checklist as well as comments referencing the pages of your manuscript. Our comments will focus both on things that you are doing well and places where the manuscript needs work. We will give you specific suggestions, always keeping in mind that you must make the final decision on how best to tell your story.

Prices

Contact us for an exact quote based on the word count of your piece. The following list is meant as a guideline only: (All prices are listed in pages assuming 1 inch margin all around and 12 point font)

• Query letter (1 page): $25
• Synopsis (3-5 page): $50
• Synopsis (6-10 page): $75
• Chapter (up to 25 pages): $75
• Partial (up to 60 pages): $150
• Longer partials or complete manuscript available after consultation.

We offer a one time free sample critique of your manuscript, to help you decide whether our critiques offer the kind of help you need. Just send us up to 1,000 words of your manuscript (sorry, no query letters or synopses samples). We will critique the sample and send it back to you with our comments. Just contact us and let us know you’re interested in a 1,000 word critique and we’ll let you know how to send us your sample.
